NFL Week Twelve betting - Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles
By Matt Knowles on 2009-11-29 16:55:14
Washington travel to Philadelphia tonight in week twelve of the NFL season looking to bounce back from their disappointing 7-6 defeat to Dallas last week that saw them fall to 3-7. The Eagles will want to win again to further their play-off hopes after beating Chicago on the road last week to improve to 6-4.
The Eagles are heavy favourites for the game on the money line at -450 (bet $450 to win $100 profit), leaving the Redskins as underdogs at +380 (bet $100 to win $380 profit). Betting on the money line so far has 53% of money backing the Eagles to add to the Redskins` woes tonight with a win.
The point spread for the game has been set at nine points, making Philadelphia favourites at -9 points and giving the Redskins a handicap of +9 points. Betting against the spread so far has seen 66% of money behind the favourites and last time the sides met Philadelphia did indeed come out on top, beating Washington 27-17 four weeks ago.
The Eagles have covered the spread so far at the same rate that they have won but the Redskins have managed to slightly improve on their on-field record of 3-7 by covering the spread at 4-6. Last season Washington won and covered in both games against the Eagles.
The Over/Under for the game is set at 50.5 points and so far 59% of money has been bet on the Over. However, the teams have been fairly even on the Over/Under, with eleven Overs and nine Unders in their combined twenty decisions so far this season.
Neither team is among the favourites for the Super Bowl this year but the Eagles are given an outside chance of mounting a challenge at 25/1. Washington are not seen as a threat and are priced at 800/1.
