NFL Week Ten betting - New Orleans Saints vs St Louis Rams

The New Orleans Saints travel to St Louis today to take on the Rams in what is expected to be a very one-sided contest indeed. New Orleans have won every game this season, last week beating Carolina 30-20 to improve to 8-0, while their opponents tonight have had a terrible start losing their first seven games before finally winning one against Detroit in week eight. They had a bye last week to concentrate on how to improve on their 1-7 record.
New Orleans are heavy favourites for the game at -700 (bet $700 to win $100 profit), leaving the Rams as underdogs at + 600 (bet $100 to win win $600 profit). Betting so far on the money line has been mostly in favour of the visitors, with 81% of money backing them to extend their unbeaten record.
The point spread has been set at a large 13.5 points, making the Saints favourites at -13.5 and giving the Rams a much needed handicap of +13.5 points. So far support for New Orleans has been almost unanimous, with 99% of action behind the unbeaten favourites. Last time the sides met, however, the Rams came out on top, winning 37-29 in week ten of the 2007 season.
The Rams have performed slightly better against the spread than their woeful efforts on the field and have covered at 3-5 despite only winning at 1-7. New Orleans, on the other hand, have failed to cover in two of their eight wins this season and so are 2-6 against the spot.
The Over/Under for the game is set at 50 points and so far 64% of money has backed the Over. So far the teams have been split fairly evenly on the Over/Under, with St Louis recording four of each and the Saints five Overs and three Unders so far.
New Orleans` impressive start to the season has seen them made clear favourites for the Super Bowl, priced at 3/1, while the struggling Rams are a hopeless 2500/1.
