NFL Week Nine betting - Tennessee Titans vs San Francisco 49ers

Tennessee travel to San Francisco in week nine of the NFL season on a high having picked up their first win of the season last week, beating AFC-South rivals Jacksonville 30-13, to move to a still unimpressive 1-6. The 49ers held out for as long as they could last week but eventually succumbed to the Colts, losing 18-14 and falling to 3-4. They will be desperate to get back to winning ways but Tennessee do not need to look far for motivation themselves, and will want to prove that they are not a team that should be 1-6.
San Francisco are favourites for the game on the money line at -190 (bet $190 to win $100 profit). Tennessee are underdogs at +177 (bet $100 to win $177 profit). Betting on the money line so far has heavily favoured the underdog Titans, with 95% of money backing them to score an upset.
The point spread is set at 4, so the 49ers are favourites at -4, while the Titans are underdogs with a +4 handicap. Betting on the point spread has mainly been on the home side, with 885 of action so far. Last time the sides met it was Tennesse who came out on top, winning 33-22 in week twelve of the 2005 season.
Both teams have performed better so far this season against the spread than on the field, with the Titans covering at a rate of 2-5, bettering their 1-6. The 49ers have been very impressive, covering at 5-1-1 against their 3-4 on the field.
The Over/Under is set at 41 points for this game, with 71% of money so far backing the Over. However, this appears misguided as both teams have so far leaned towards the Under, with three Overs and four Unders each.
Neither team is among the favourites for the Super Bowl this year, but San Francisco have been given the better chance of the two, priced at 80/1 to Tennessee`s 600/1.
