NFL Week Seven betting preview - Green Bay Packers vs Cleveland Browns
By Matt Knowles on 2009-10-25 15:15:45
Green Bay travel to Cleveland to face the Browns in week seven of the NFL season tonight. The visitors are on a high after shutting out the Lions last week 28-0 to improve to 3-2. Cleveland will look to improve on last week`s showing where they lost again to Pittsburgh to fall to 1-5 this year.
The Packers are favourites on the money line for tonight at -400 (bet $400 to win $100 profit). Cleveland are underdogs at +325 (bet $100 to win $325 profit) and have so far attracted no interest in the betting, with 100% of money backing Green Bay so far.
The points spread is set at 7 points, making the Packers favourites at -7 points, while Cleveland will be underdogs at +7. Last time the teams met was in week two of 2005, when the Browns came away with a 26-24 win. In betting so far most people seem to think this will not happen again, with 98% of money so far backing the Packers to cover the spread.
Cleveland have been far better against the spread this year than they have on the field, covering at 3-3 while their record is 1-5. Green Bay have covered in every win and failed in every loss so far this season.
The Over/Under is set at 41.5 points, with 60% of money so far backing the Under. The Browns have had three Unders and three Overs so far, while the Packers have had three overs and two unders.
Green Bay are not seen as strong contenders for the Super Bowl this year but are given an outside chance of challenging at 33/1. The Browns are not, priced at a huge 1500/1.
