English Premiership betting update

With Chelsea`s loss to Man City at the weekend, the Premiership is now too close to call, with Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal all slugging it out for the title. Most people in the country will be gunning for either of the London sides, as it will be painful to see United win it for a fourth season in a row.
Arsenal fans will be particularly eager to win something this season, to avoid ending a fifth successive season without silverware. The Gunners moved to within three points of Chelsea, with a 3-1 win over Chelsea, but the match was marred by a horrific injury to Aaron Ramsey. Nevertheless, Arsenal look like they will mount a serious challenge for the title, which will come as a surprise to many who wrote them off after defeats against Man Utd and Chelsea. Their odds for the title reached as high as 20/1, but have since come down. They are best priced at 3/1 with Betfred.
Arsenal have been uncharacteristically ruthless against the lesser teams this season, but their undoing has come at the hands of United and Chelsea, who both beat the Gunners home and away. Despite this, the 3/1 looks like good value as they have an easy run in, with their two main tests being away at Tottenham and at home to Man City.
Chelsea had been favourites for almost the whole season, but their 4-2 defeat at the hands of Man City on Saturday have seen their odds drift. United and Chelsea`s odds are almost indistinguishable from Chelsea`s, with 5/2 generally available for both sides. Their fortunes could well be decided on the third of April, when the two sides meet at Old Trafford.
The race for the fourth spot is also hotting up, with Liverpool, City, Spurs and Aston Villa all vying for the coveted Champions League. Spurs held onto a 2-1 lead against the in form Everton, while Liverpool beat Blackburn 2-1. Spurs now occupy fourth place on goal difference, but City have a game in hand. Liverpool are a point further back, while Villa are four points behind Tottenham with two games in hand.
Liverpool and City are the joint favourites to finish there, both priced at 7/4- Liverpool with Bet365, and City with Betfred. Spurs are at 4/1, and Villa are a short way behind at 9/2.
Portsmouth seem to have locked down bottom place with the news that they will be docked nine points. They are now 1/50 to be relegated. Burnley are next, at 2/5, while Hull are the first odds against team, at 11/10. Wolves are priced at 11/8 with Skybet, and Wigan are at 4/1. Bolton are priced at 6/1 with Betfair.
Wayne Rooney is a heavy favourite to finish the season as top goalscorer, priced at 1/3. He has scored 23 Premiership goals so far this season, but at that price he looks more like a lay. Didier Drogba is only four goals behind, and with Rooney`s current injury problems, coupled with the fact that he plays every game for United, the Ivorian`s price of 10/3 seems better value. Jermain Defoe is third favourite, priced at 33/1 with Bet365. He has scored 16 goals this season, but his goalscoring form has deserted him recently. Carlos Tevez is at 66/1 with Ladbrokes.
