Next Burnley Manager betting

Owen Coyle`s imminent departure to Bolton leaves a void to be filled at Burnley and the new manager has a real job on his hands to keep the newly-promoted side in the Premier League. The Clarets have impressed at times this season, particularly at home, but pathetic away form threatens to ruin everything they have achieved. Coyle has been credited with much of the club`s success while working on a very limited budget and his successor has a hard act to follow.
Paul Lambert has been made the favourite to take the reigns at Burnley, priced at 6/4 (bet £40 to win £110) with Ladbrokes. Lambert is currently manager at Norwich City but the Scotsman will surely fancy the challenge of managing in the Premier League for the first time in his career. The ex-Celtic player is statistically the best manager in Norwich`s history and would be within Burnley`s price range.
Following Paul Lambert is former Sheffield Wednesday, Scunthorpe and Grimsby manager Brian Laws at 11/2, who is currently without a club. Laws is rumoured to be interesting in the vacant managerial position at League Two outfit Cheltenham Town but would leap at the chance to manage a Premiership side.
At 8/1 is Burnley`s current caretaker manager Steve Davis. Davis is popular at the club having played there for five years as a centre-back, scoring twenty goals in one hundred and fifty-eight appearances, and knows the set-up and the players already, so would be an easy option. The fans, however, may want someone more experienced as the task of avoiding relegation is a difficult one.
Other notable candidates include unattached former Derby boss Paul Jewell at 10/1 and former Reading manager Steve Coppell at 12/1. Neil Warnock, the current Crystal Palace manager, is also in the frame at 25/1 and may not be averse to leaving Palace as there are huge difficulties with paying both his own and his players` wages. The former Sheffield United manager also has experience in relegation battles that would surely come in handy at Burnley.
