OLD TRAFFORD, MANCHESTER - Manchester United beat Arsenal 1-0 at Old Trafford tonight with Ji-Sung Park scoring the decisive goal and Wayne Rooney missing a penalty in what was generally a dull game.
The first 40 minutes of the game were from sparkling but a minute later Park broke the deadlock after a Nani cross hit Clichy and was deflected into Park's path, allowing him to head home and take the lead.
Manchester United were best priced at Evens (bet £10 to make £10 profit) to win tonight and were 8/1 to win 1-0. Under 2.5 goals was a 10/11 chance. Manchester United to be winning at half time and full time was on offer at 9/4.
Neither team showed the sort of form that would give anyone any confidence that either side will win the Premiership easily this season. Arsenal showed almost nothing while United won despite Rooney missing his 73rd minute penalty with a poor attempt.
Bookmakers reacted by cutting Manchester United to best odds of 6/4 to win the Premiership with Stan James and Skybet, meaning they are now clear favourites for the title. Chelsea are 9/4 with Victor Chandler while Arsenal are now out to 5/1 on Betfair, having been 7/2 before the match.
