Premier League-Swansea v West Bromwich Albion:odds and betting previews
By Angus Dalzell on 2011-09-16 15:48:17
Swansea are certainly in need of a win this weekend, after their poor start to the Premier League season, they face West Bromwich Albion at the Liberty stadium. Heading into tonight's match, the bookmakers can not separate the two teams in the outright betting market. Both teams can be backed at best odds of 9/5, with William Hill for Swansea and with Betfred for West Brom. The draw is at a standout 23/10 with Victor Chandler and Coral.
Swansea's Central defender, Garry Monk will be making his first apparance of the season on Saturday. His return is timely as they will be without Steven Caulker and Alan Tate whilst West Brom will be without the likes of Zoltan Gera and Chris Brunt. West Brom will also be without Gabriel Tamas, who has been banned for the next three matchs after accepting a violent conduct charge. There has been a lack of goals in the Liberty stadium this season, with Swansea drawing 0-0 in there last two home games, hopefully the Baggies can change that this weekend.
West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie, heads the first goalscorer market at best odds of 6/1 with Ladbrokes and Paddy Power. He is closely followed by swansea striker Scott Sinclair, who Bet 365 are offering at a top priced 13/2 shot. Swansea striker Danny Graham, is also fancied in the first goalscorer market at 7/1 with Skybet. William Hill are offering a standout 7/1 on Irish striker Shane Long, to score first in the match.
In the correct score market, the bookmakers favour a 1-1 draw which is on offer at 11/2 with Betfred . Next most likely is a 1-0 scoreline from either team, and can be backed at best odds of 7/1 with Ladbrokes and Stan James. While 888 Sport and Bet 365 are offering 9-1 on a 2-1 home side win. On the other hand, a 2-1 West brom win can be backed at best odds of 10/1 with Betfred.
In the Over/Under market over 2.5 goals is a 23/20 shot with Bet 365Â whilst under the same 2.5 margin is a best price of 8/11 with Stan James. For punters who are expecting an open contest can take a best odds of 6/1 with Bet 365 for over 4 goals.
In the half-time/full-time market, Swansea/Swansea can be backed at best odds of 7/2 with Victor Chandler whilst Swansea to win after being held back at the break is at 5/1 with Paddy Power and Skybet. West Brom/West Brom is offered at 4/1 with Ladbrokes and Betfred whilst West Brom to draw after winning at the break can be backed at 16/1 with Skybet.
This match kicks off at 15.00 BST on Saturday.
