Premier League: Swansea City v Bolton Wanderers Odds and Betting Preview
By Jack Howard on 2011-10-28 08:00:02
SWANSEA, UK – Swansea City host Bolton Wanderers on Saturday in a clash between two sides desperate for points in the Premier League. Bolton have lost seven matches in the league so far this season – more than any other club – and are currently floundering in the relegation zone with a mere six points. Swansea are three points ahead of their opponents, but desperately need to beat sides like Bolton if they are to stay in the top flight next season. Swansea are currently favourites to secure victory in this important game, and can be backed to do so at best odds of 23/20 (bet £20 to make £23 profit) with Victor Chandler. Bolton, on the other hand, can be backed at 11/4 with Boylesports, whilst the draw is on offer at 5/2 with Stan James.
Swansea have won their last two home games, beating West Brom 3-0 and Stoke 2-0. Manager Brendan Rogers will be particularly encouraged by the consecutive clean sheets, and will doubtless hope that his side can produce a similar performance in their upcoming game. Owen Coyle's Bolton side have won two of their four games on the road this season, an odd statistic given their home record of five losses in five games. At the beginning of the campaign Coyle would not have been expecting his team's away form to be their strongest asset, but given that this seems to be the case he will be urging his players to fight tooth and nail for a result in Swansea.
In the over/under betting the top price on over 2.5 goals being scored is evens with Ladbrokes, whilst under 2.5 goals can be backed at 10/11 with Bet365. For those punters anticipating a bore draw, however, under 0.5 goals can be backed at longer odds of 10/1 with William Hill.
Swansea will probably start with the partnership of Danny Graham and Scott Sinclair up front, who have scored five goals between them so far this season. Graham and Sinclair are currently joint favourites to open the scoring on Saturday, and can both be backed to do so at 11/2 with Victor Chandler. Bolton's most potent attacking player this season has been Ivan Klasnic, who has hit the net three times in the Premier League. Klasnic is available to break the deadlock at a marginally longer 7/1 with Ladbrokes.
Swansea are quoted at best odds of 11/4 with Ladbrokes to win the match after leading at half time, whilst draw/Swansea can be backed at 9/2 with Coral. Draw/Bolton is on offer at 15/2 with Boylesports, whilst those punters who think that Bolton will fight back to win the match after trailing at half time can back Swansea/Bolton at longer odds of 35/1 with Paddy Power.
Kick off is at 15.00 BST
