Premier League: Liverpool v Swansea Odds and Betting Preview
By Michael Peet on 2011-11-05 10:53:02
LIVERPOOL, UK - Liverpool take on Swansea as they look for a first home win since the end of September. The hosts are clear favourites to take the three points at 4/11 with Paddy Power, while Victor Chandler make Swansea 12/1 long shots. Stan James are quoting 9/2 that the match ends a draw.
Liverpool have enjoyed a solid start to the season and find themselves in 6th place, four points off second placed Manchester United. They are now 5/4 with Ladbrokes and Paddy Power to make the top four this season, but Kenny Dalglish has acknowledged the need to improve his side's home form. The Red have drawn three of their opening five games at Anfield.
Swansea, meanwhile, have quietly risen to tenth in the Premier League table, and have been pushed out by Coral to 11/8 to be relegated. For a side well-backed to go down it has been a superb effort from Brendan Rodgers' men, who will be able to play with a certain degree of freedom at Anfield.
Despite the Swans' good form the bookmakers are backing a comfortable home win: 2-0 to the Red is an 11/2 shot at Paddy Power while Unibet are top price on 3-0 at 19/2. Swansea have scored in their last three away games though, so 3-1 to the the home side looks tempting at 11/1 with Skybet. Blue Square are offering 10/1 on another 1-1 draw at Anfield and 25/1 that Swansea grab a famous 1-0 win.Â
Liverpool are 10/11 favourites at Paddy Power to be leading at both half-time and full-time and 10/3 at Coral and Boyle Sports to be level at the interval and go on to win. Coral are also best for the draw/draw combination at 15/2, while Boyle Sports are the value for Swansea/Swansea at 25/1.Â
The game looks to have goals in it and Betfred reckons 5/4 on under 2.5. William Hill are a 2/1 bet on over 3.5 and 9/2 that the game features more than 4.5 goals.
Luis Suarez has been superb for his club this season and unsurprisingly finds himself 7/2 favourite at Unibet to open the scoring. Controversial front man Andy Carroll also looks to have found some form, and is 9/2 in the same market with Bet365. The Swans best chance to break the deadlock is in-form Danny Graham at an appetising 14/1 with Unibet.
The match kicks off at 1500 BST.
