Premier League - Fulham v Liverpool Betting Preview and Odds

LONDON, ENGLAND
Fulham play an in form Liverpool for the Premier League's Monday evening tie this week at Craven Cottage. The visitors are the favourites for the game priced up at 5/4 with Victor Chandler whereas the odds for a home victory are best at 13/5 with Stanjames.com. The draw is offered at 12/5 with bet365.
The Cottagers will be hoping to bounce back with a win, after a disappointing and injury ridden defeat in the Europa League against FC Twente. Republic of Ireland's winger Damien Duff is unlikely to feature after suffering from what seems to be a recurring calf injury. Moussa Dembele may be able to play despite his mid-week knock and it looks like star scorer Clint Dempsey will make his return after recovering from his thigh injury. Fulham have not started this season as well as they would have liked and find themselves 15th in the league. That said they are only four points off Aston Villa, who are eighth.
Liverpool have been on fantastic form recently. They have won twice at Stamford Bridge (once in the league and more recently in the Carling Cup quarter final) and drew against league leaders Manchester City in a game they arguably deserved to win. Unfortunately Lucas Leiva, who has been fantastic so far and was player of the year last season for Liverpool, has suffered a season ending cruciate ligament injury. Captain Steven Gerrard is also unavailable . "King Kenny" will see this as a perfect opportunity to claim three points and show the consistency needed for a top four spot. Liverpool always seem to play well against the bigger clubs, however need to work on being clinical against the easier opponents.
Despite the distance between these two sides in the league, the 1-1 draw is the favourite result at 5/1 with Ladbrokes. The second-favourite is a 1-0 Liverpool win at 6/1 with bet365. For those expecting Suarez and co to perform like they have been doing recently, a 4-0 Liverpool win looks tempting at 66/1 with Boylesports.
Liverpool have conceded the lowest number of goals so far, joint with Manchester City, as Pepe Reina has only had to pick the ball out of the net on 12 occasions. Fulham, despite their position in the league, have only conceded four more than their Merseyside counterparts. The odds for fewer than 1.5 goals is given at 2/1 with bet365 and under 2 is 13/10 with the same. On the other hand, with such prolific goalscorers such as Dempsey and Suarez on the pitch a free flowing game could be on the cards. Odds for more than 4 goals to be scored are given at 6/1 with bet365.
With so many quality strikers on the field the odds on first goalscorer look very interesting. Liverpool could line up with four strikers on the pitch if they play Kuyt and Bellamy wide and Carroll and Suarez down the middle. Suarez is favourite to score first at 11/2 with bet365 and, somewhat surprisingly. Andy Carroll is right behind him at 13/2. Carroll has not had the best of starts to the season, epitomised by his penalty miss at Stamford Bridge, however he always gets plenty of service when he plays and surely must start banging them in at some point soon. Fulham legend Bobby Zamora is the favourite to break the deadlock for the home side at 15/2 with Coral. The experienced Danny Murphy will be relishing the chance to play against his old team. Not famous for his goalscoring ability it would be poetic if he scored. He is priced up at 20/1 with William Hill.
