The Premier Leage: Swansea v Fulham Odds and Betting Preview
By Jack Howard on 2011-12-10 13:41:17
SWANSEA, UK – Swansea City host Fulham this afternoon in their crucial Premier League clash at the Liberty Stadium. Whilst they are currently two places behind Fulham in the table, Swansea will be playing with the advantage of an enthusiastic home crowd, and therefore start the game as 13/8 (bet £8 to make £13 profit) favourites with Ladbrokes. Football pundits are anticipating a close-fought contest, however, and Fulham can currently be backed at only slightly longer odds of 15/8 with Victor Chandler, whilst the draw is on offer at 23/10 with Blue Square.
Both Swansea and Fulham are battling away in the bottom half of the league table, desperate to stay clear of the relegation zone, and will be eager to secure three vital points in this fixture. Swansea have an impressive record of five clean-sheets from seven home games this season, and have only lost at the Liberty Stadium to Premiership Champions Manchester United. Whilst the Swans have been resolute at the back, however, they have had difficulty finding the net in attack, and have only managed to muster fourteen goals in fourteen matches so far. They will hope that they can produce a more impressive attacking display against Fulham, however, whose win against Liverpool on Monday was their first in five games.
In the over/under betting the top price on over 2.5 goals being scored is 13/10 with Bet365, whilst under 2.5 goals is on offer at 4/6 with Betinternet. For those punters expecting this crucial encounter to end in a goalless draw, however, under 0.5 goals can be backed at 8/1 with Boylesports.
Swansea striker Danny Graham starts the match as favourite to open the scoring, and can be backed to do so at a market best of 6/1 with Ladbrokes. Graham’s team mate Leroy Lita is also deemed to be a threat to the Fulham defence, however, and can be backed to score first at 15/2 with Skybet. The Cottagers’ most dangerous attacking player, on the other hand, is thought to be Andy Johnson, who is available to break the deadlock at 15/2 with Paddy Power.
Swansea are quoted at best odds of 7/2 with Boylesports to win the match after leading at half time, whilst draw/Swansea is available at 5/1 with Coral. Draw/Fulham is on offer at 11/2 with Skybet, whilst those punters who think that the Cottagers will win the match after trailing at half time can back Swansea/Fulham at odds as long as 40/1 with the same bookmakers.
Kick-Off is at 15.00 GMT
