Premier League: Stoke v Tottenham Odds and Betting Preview

STOKE, UK - In-form Tottenham travel to Stoke on Sunday to take on Tony Pulis's mid-tablers. The visitors can be backed at 11/10 with Victor Chandler to win their eleventh league game in twelve league fixtures, while Stoke are a 14/5 chance at Stan James. Betfred and Ladbrokes are going 12/5 that the game ends a draw.
After two heavy losses at the beginning of the season, Spurs have put together a remarkable run of form that has seen them fly up to third in the league table. Depending on how Saturday's results pan out, they could finish the weekend in second, and although Harry Redknapp has played down their title chances, the bookies have progressively cut the odds on them finishing the season in top-spot. Bet365 now make them a 16/1 chance, well ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool.
As for Stoke, they will happy to return to their home patch after a hard-fought win at Everton last week. Tony Pulis's men have once again shown their battling spirit this season, and now sit eighth in the league table, 13 points behind today's opponents; the presence of ex-Spurs players like Peter Crouch and Jonathan Woodgate in their line-up is sure to add extra spice to the fixture, which ended in a 1-2 home defeat last time out.
1-1 is the favourite final score, a 13/2 bet at William Hill, while Spurs can be backed to clinch a 1-0 victory at 8/1 with Ladbrokes. Stoke's home fixtures have tended to be close-run things this season - only two at the Britannia have produced more than 2.5 goals - so 1-0 Stoke could be tempting at 12/1 with Unibet. Paddy Power are offering 11/1 on 2-0 to Spurs and 14/1 on 3-1.
Tottenham are 13/5Ā with Blue Square to be leading the match at half-time and full-time, and look a convincing bet given that they have trailed at the interval in just 7% of league games this campaign. In the other double result prices, Stoke/Stoke is 13/2 with Boyle Sports and Draw/Spurs 9/2 at Coral. Spurs/Stoke looks unlikely to attract big money, but would make a handy winner at 35/1 with Paddy Power.
As mentioned, Stoke games haven't tended to produce goals in quantity, so evens on under 2.5 today looks a nice bet at Stan James. Unibet are 14/5 that the game goes under 1.5, while over 3.5 looks a touch short at 9/4 with Skybet and Paddy Power.
Emmanuel Adebayor looks like the signing of the season at the moment, and the former Togo international tops the list for first goalscorer, coming in at 5/1 with Ladbrokes. Unibet are offering 11/2 on Jermain Defoe in the same market, while Gareth Bale - who has five league goals this season - is a standout 9/1 shot with Bet365. Peter Crouch, meanwhile, can be backed at 8/1 with Ladbrokes to notch the first goal of the game against his former employers; Kenwyne Jones is just behind at 9/1 with the same firm.
