Bookies Predict Record £5M+ Gamble On Harrison- Haye Showdown
BOOKMAKERS William Hill say the heavyweight showdown between David Haye and Audley Harrison could produce a record £5million betting turnover for a domestic fight. `World title fights between high profile British boxers are few and far between - and we haven`t had a fight of this stature since Lennox Lewis beat Frank Bruno, attracting a £1m+ betting turnover` said Hill`s spokesman Graham Sharpe, `This scrap between the two best known boxers in Britain will dwarf that one in betting terms and we anticipate at least £5m will be bet on the outcome.`
William Hill make David Haye overwhelming 1/10 favourite to beat 11/2 outsider Audley Harrison, with the draw quoted at 33/1 - Hills make Haye 1/3 to knock Audley out, with the Olympic Champ 7/1 to do vice versa.
Haye is 7/2 to win on points with Hills who make Harrison 14/1 to win by the same method.
