Irish Fans Tipped To Have Their Say On X Factor

(03 September 2010) Ireland will soon have their say over what acts progress in this years X Factor if the bookies odds are anything to go by.
Paddy Power are betting 4/6 that X Factor bosses will finally open the voting lines to the Republic of Ireland. The show has been coming under pressure for years to allow Irish fans the opportunity to cast their vote but demand to have our voice heard has grown ever since terrible twosome Jedward’s stint on the show last year.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power, explained: “It’s an absolute disgrace that Irish fans can’t yet vote on X Factor. We’ve had pretty decent acts in recent years like Eoghan Quigg and Jedward and while the hair-raising twins weren’t the best singers they certainly generated acres of publicity for the show! Now this year our very own Mary Byrne is hotly tipped to win it’s only right that TV bosses let Ireland get behind her!”
Ireland’s answer to Su-Bo, Mary Byrne is Paddy Power’s 8/1 second favourite to win this year’s X Factor while fellow Irish hopeful Rebecca Creighton, who is rumoured to now be part of a group who have made it through to the judge’s houses, is 16/1 to be crowned this year’s winner.
