WORLD number 2 Roger Federer can be backed at 9-4 on Betfair to win this year`s US Open, which starts in New York on Monday. The Swiss master is competing for his 17th Grand Slam title.
Federer is tipped for the Flushing Meadows crown ahead of Rafael Nadal. World number 1 Nadal is currently available at 7-2 to bag a ninth career Grand Slam, his third of 2010.
Britain`s Andy Murray is the third favourite to win the tournament outright. The 23-year-old is a 4-1 shot to win his first Grand Slam title on American soil. World number 3 Novak Djokovic is a 16-1 chance to take the US title.
Betfair`s Alex Bake said: "There`s very little separating Nadal and Murray in betting, but, with five US Open titles to his name already, it`s clear the punters feel Federer is the man to beat."
