Martinez slashed to 3/1 favourite for Sack Race

ROBERTO Martinez has been slashed to just 3/1 with Ladbrokes to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job.

His Wigan side were thumped 6-0 at home to Chelsea and the bookies reckon Martinez could already be on borrowed time just two games into the new season.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: "It`s been disastrous for Wigan and the Premier League isn`t renowned for its patience with under-performing managers. Martinez must be on thin ice now."

Newcastle`s Chris Hughton is 5/1 to be the next managerial casualty followed by Blackpool`s Ian Holloway at 6/1. Sir Alex Ferguson is the safest manager in his job, according to the bookies.
