Bookies get that sinking feeling after Boat Race gamble

Ahead of the 156th University Boat Race this Saturday, leading bookmaker Coral has slashed the odds on either the Oxford or Cambridge boat sinking to 16-1 (from 33-1), after a flood of bets from punters this week.

"The weather forecast for the race is not great, and punters clearly believe the conditions will make life difficult for the crews, and if either boat does sink, we`ll be going down with the rowers!" said Coral`s David Stevens.

Oxford are 1-3 favourites with Coral to win the race, with Cambridge 9-4 and a dead heat 100-1.
