PACMAN BACKED BUT LATE WIN FAVOURED
Manny Paquiao is the red hot 1-6 favourite with Coral bookmakers to defeat Joshua Clottey in their WBO Welterweight Title fight in Texas on Saturday night. The Pacman has been backed in from an opening price of 1-4 to defeat the Ghanaian challenger, but Coral report that most of the money they have seen has been for a late stoppage for the Pilipino
"With a fight against Mayweather still very much on the cards this looks a straight forward warm up for Pacquaio, but the durable Clottey has yet to be stopped in the ring, and punters obviously feel the value lies in a late stoppage for the champ," said Coral spokesman Gary Burton, "rounds 10, 11 and 12 are the worse results for us."
Since destroying Ricky Hatton within two rounds a year ago Paquiao won a comfortable 12 round decision against Miquel Angel Cotto in November.
