Teenage star backed to represent UK

TALENTED STAR GAMBLED BUT UK WILL STILL BE EUROVISION OUTSIDERS

Teenager Karen Harding has been the subject of quite a gamble to win "Your Country Needs You" and representative the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in May, she is now the 7-4 favourite with Coral bookmakers, having been as big as 3-1 earlier in the week.

"With a victory over X-Factor winner Joe McElderry in an earlier talent show, punters obviously reckon she is good enough to win something like this, and besides Miss Fitz, who were finalists in this years X-Factor, the rest are all unknowns, which makes Karen the obvious choice," said Coral spokesman Gary Burton.

The winner has a lot to do if they are to improve on more recent UK performances in Eurovision, Coral say the winner will be at least 33-1 on the big night.

This years Song Contest is to be held in Oslo following Norway`s runaway win last year.
