WAYNE Rooney is 7/2 to eclipse Cristiano Ronaldo`s best haul of 42 goals during the 2007-08 campaign, according to Ladbrokes.

And the striking sensation- currently with 30 to his name- is 7/4 to be crowned European Player of the Year.

Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: "Rooney is in phenomenal form. He has been the scourge of the bookies time and time again this term and that looks set to continue."

His former team-mate is 6/1 not to bag either the Champions League or La Liga during his time with Real Madrid.
