LATVIAN VAIRA THREATENS BLAIR PRESIDENTIAL HOPES
LATVIA`s Vaira Vike-Freiberga has emerged as a threat to Tony`s Blair`s hopes of winning the role of European President say bookmakers William Hill who make her a 16/1 shot after she revealed her intentions of standing. Hills have lengthened Tony Blair`s odds from 8/11 favourite initially to 5/1 2nd favourite behind Belgium`s Herman Van Rompuy, at 4/5. `Mr Blair has gone from being regarded as a sure thing for the role to someone struggling for support as his bandwagon has slowed down` said Hill`s spokesman Graham Sharpe. Hills also make Jan Peter Balkenende a 6/1 third favourite.
BNP 3/1 TO WIN SEAT AT GENERAL ELECTION
AFTER finishing just behind the Tories in Glasgow, the BNP have been shortened from 7/2 to 3/1 to win a seat at the next General Election by William Hill.
