Hughes heading for Stadium of Light
MARK HUGHES is closing in on favouritism to become the next Sunderland manager as punters desert Martin O'Neill according to Ladbrokes.
Hughes has been slashed to evens overnight as the firm report little interest in early favourite Martin O'Neill (4/5). Other contenders for the vacancy include Rafa Benitez (10/1) and current Sunderland caretaker manager Eric Black at 12/1.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "Punters are clearly hoping to see Sparky cut through the Stadium Of Light gloom. He's been the best backed candidate by far."
