Rooney 16/1 to follow Owen into the Royal Ascot winner's enclosure

WAYNE ROONEY is 16/1 with Ladbrokes to emulate teammate Michael Owen at Ascot with his newly bought yearling.
Rooney's latest purchase is also 8/1 to be a Group winner in the UK as a two year old with the same price applying should the horse land a Group contest in its classic year.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: "Rooney's foray into ownership should generate huge excitement. If his horse lands a big prize it will almost certainly cost us a few quid but it will be worth every penny."
