MARIO BALOTELI is one of the favourites to score the 20,000th Premier League goal according to Ladbrokes.

City's in-form strike force of Balotelli and Sergio Aguero share favouritism at 16/1. Wayne Rooney is 20/1 and current top Premier League goalscorer Robin Van Persie is a 25/1 shot.

Luis Suarez and David Silva each earn 33/1 quotes of hitting the milestone and it's odds-on that the player will score the goal with his feet (1/3) and 11/4 it's a header. Although it's also 25/1 that the 20,000th goal may be one to forget if it's an own goal.

Having scored the 14,000 and 15,000th goals Jermaine Defoe is a 150/1 outsider.
