Redknapp odds-on to be next England manager

Sky Bet have cut the odds on Harry Redknapp being the next England manager from 7/4 to 4/9 after the Tottenham boss was cleared of tax evasion.
The former Portsmouth manager had drifted out during his trial but has seen his price slashed back to odds-on with his name cleared, with punters backing him at 1/2 following the announcement of the outcome.
With Redknapp expected to be given the job which he has never denied interest in, the online bookmaker have opened up betting on the next Tottenham manager.
The Leeds based firm make Jose Mourinho the 2/1 favourite to take over at White Hart Lane amid speculation over his position at Real Madrid, with David Moyes (5/1) and Carlo Ancelotti (6/1) also considered to be in the running.
Speculation over Redknapp taking the reins at England has been heightened by a disagreement between current boss Fabio Capello, who was already set to leave after Euro 2012, and the Football Association over the latter's decision to strip John Terry of his captaincy.
The Italian boss, who is now 4/1 not to lead England to the Euros, is set to meet with the FA to explain his comments, which insinuated that he still perceives Terry to be his skipper and that the centre-half is innocent until proven guilty.
The FA took the decision to remove the armband from Terry after his trial for alleged racial abuse of Anton Ferdinand was set for after the summer finals, prompting Sky Bet to offer odds on who will lead the Three Lions, with Steven Gerrard the 1/2 favourite ahead of Scott Parker (9/2) and Joe Hart (6/1).
Sky Bet's Dale Tempest said: "Speculation is rife over both the next England manager and captain, with Redknapp and Gerrard the two men favoured to inherit the respective honours.
"While punters are keen to gamble on who will take the two posts, few are touching England at 8/1 to win the Euros amidst the usual disruptions ahead of a major tournament."
