Premier League - Next Permanent QPR Manager Odds and Betting Preview

LONDON, UK - Former Wales, Fulham, Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes is heavy favourite to take over from the recently sacked Neil Warnock at Queens Park Rangers after Loftus Road supremo Tony Fernandes got rid of the likeable Yorkshireman after an eight match Premier League run without a win. Hughes is top priced at 1/5 (bet £5 to make £1 profit) at Stan James and Betfred to be the next manager at the Premier League strugglers.
Neil Warnock was always going to find it tough to repeat last season's Championship form in the Premier League and after failing to get the best out of Adel Taarabt this season the side have struggled, despite bringing in plenty of players with Premier League experience like Joey Barton, Anton Ferdinand and Shaun Wright-Phillips.
QPR will likely use some of Tony Fernandes' fortune to bring in players in the transfer-window so the job will be more attractive to many managers, especially seeing as Rangers are still just outside the relegation zone and are rumoured to have a massive transfer budget.
Ex-West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola is second favourite with most bookmakers and is quoted at best odds of 11/2 at William Hill. Zola might not be the most popular choice with the fans as a manager with proven Premier League experience and success like Mark Hughes.
Third in the betting is former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez who can be backed at best odds of 12/1 at Paddy Power. The popular Spaniard has been out of work since leaving Anfield and has spoken of his keeness to have another crack at the Premier League.
Further outsiders in the market include former Rangers and Scotland manager Walter Smith at 16/1 with William Hill, Chelsea assistant Manager Roberto di Matteo at 20/1 with Skybet and Alan Curbishley quoted at best odds of 22/1 with Paddy Power and Sportingbet.
Whether the new manager will be in place for QPR's visit to Newcastle United at the weekend remains to be seen.
