Guinness Premiership Final - Leicester Tigers vs Saracens
By Matt Knowles on 2010-05-29 15:43:39
Leicester are favourites to win the Guinness Premiership final today as they face a Saracens team hoping to end a twelve-year spell without silverware. The Tigers are defending champions and are playing in their sixth final in as many years.
The bookmakers offer 4/7 (bet £70 to win £40 profit) on Leicester, leaving Saracens as underdogs at 15/8, with the draw at 20/1.
In the semi-finals, Leicester weren`t pushed too hard by a lacklustre Bath side and won it 15-6, while Saracens edged out Northampton 21-19 to set up a chance at a first Premiership title.
Leicester can be backed at 10/11 in the handicap market at -4 points, while Betinternet offer the same odds on Saracens at +6 points. Â Ladbrokes go 4/6 on the underdogs with the seven point head-start.
Scott Hamilton has been made joint-favourite at 12/1, along with Alesana Tuilagi, to score the first try today. They are followed by Michael Tagicakibau of Saracens at 14/1, with Alex Goode slightly longer at 16/1.
Leicester are 11/10 to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and 20/1 to win after drawing at half-time, as they did in the last round. Saracens/Saracens is 3/1 and Leicester are 6/1 to overcome a half-time deficit to retain their title.
The Guinness Premiership Grand Final kicks off at 5.30 pm UK time at Twickenham.
