Italian Serie A betting - Juventus vs AC Milan
By Harry Maude on 2010-01-10 18:00:57
Juventus host AC Milan tonight, knowing that a win will see them leapfrog the second placed team, and put pressure on Inter Milan, who are currently clear at the top of the table by eight points. Both sides picked up good results last match, with Juve beating Parma 2-1 and AC thrashing Genoa 5-2. However, both teams know that they face an uphill struggle to catch up with Jose Mourinho`s Inter who are in a fantastic position in this half way point.
Despite Juve`s midweek win, the pressure is still on manager Ciro Ferrara, who had lost his previous three matches before the win at Parma. His side are in the midst of an injury crisis, and the news that David Trezeguet will be out for six weeks has added to an injury list which contains Gianluigi Buffon, Vincenzo Iaquinta and Mauro Camoranesi. Juve will also be missing defensive midfielder Mohamed Sissoko, who is playing for Mali in the African Cup of Nations. Milan`s star striker Alexandre Pato could be missing for the Rossoneri after picking up an injury in the warm-up against Genoa.
Despite their recent poor form, Juve`s home advantage means that they are favourites for the match, priced at 6/4 (bet £40 to make £60 profit). Milan are priced at 11/5 for the win, and the draw is at 9/4.
A 1-1 draw is the favourite result for the match, priced at 6/1. A 1-0 win for Juve is priced at 15/2, while the same score is 17/2 for Milan. A goalless draw is at 9/1, with a 2-1 win for Juve at 9/1 and a 2-0 win at 12/1. A 2-1 win for Milan is at 13/1, with a 2-0 win at 16/1. A 2-2 draw is also at 16/1.
On the half time / full time market, Juventus / Juventus is the favourite result at 10/3, followed by draw / draw at 4/1. Milan / Milan is at 9/2, while draw / Juve is at 5/1. Draw / Milan is at 13/2.
Brazilian striker Amauri is favourite to score first despite the fact that he has only scored four goals so far in Serie A this season. He is priced at 11/2. Alessandro del Piero is next at 13/2, as is Milan`s Pato. Attacking midfielder Diego is at 7/1, along with striker Ciro Immobile. Milan`s Marco Borriello is at 15/2. David Beckham, who has only played one match since returning to Milan on loan, is priced at 16/1 to score in this match.
Both of these sides are outsiders in the title race to Inter, who are priced at 2/9 to win Serie A, with AC at 11/2 and Juve at 12/1.
