Italian Serie A football - Internazionale vs Siena

Internazionale host Siena tonight in Seria A hoping to extend their lead at the top of Serie A even further than the large eight-point gap that currently separates them from rivals AC Milan. Inter have won the league for the last four years and unless they experience a dramatic loss of form it looks as if they will make it five in a row this season.

The hosts are favourites for the game at 2/9 (bet $90 to win $20 profit), leaving Siena as underdogs at 14/1. Inter are in reasonably good form having won four of their last six games, including their last two. Siena, however, have so far had a season they will want to forget, winning only two of their eighteen games and sitting bottom of the table. They may, however, take some consolation from the fact that both of their wins have come in their last four matches. The draw is priced at 5/1.

The bookmakers seem to believe a comfortable win for the home side is on the cards and have made 2-0 to Inte the favourite score for the match, priced at 11/2, ahead of 1-0 at 13/2 and 3-0 at 7/1. A 1-1 draw, which would hugely disappoint Inter but would be an excellent result for Siena, is at 12/1, with a shock 1-0 away win tonight available at 30/1.

Argentine striker Diego Milito has been made favourite to open the scoring tonight at 3/1 ahead of new signing Goran Pandev, who made his début for Inter in Wednesday`s 1-0 win over Chievo. The Macedonian is priced at 4/1, followed by Marko Arnautovic at 9/2 and Wesley Sneijder at 6/1. Italian striker Massimo Maccarone is Siena`s best chance of scoring the first goal of the game at 12/1.

Inter are 4/6 to be winning at both half-time and full-time and 4/1 to win after drawing at half-time. The bookmakers offer 10/1 that both halves end in a draw and Siena are 33/1 to hold a lead at both the interval and the full-time whistle and the same price to win after drawing at half-time.

Jose Mourinho`s team are heavy favourites to win Serie A this season after opening up such as significant lead, priced at 1/5 for another title. Siena, however, are in relegation battle and the bookmakers seem to think they will have difficulty avoiding the drop, pricing them at 4/9 to be playing in Serie B next season.
