MANCHESTER: Alex Ferguson will hope his Manchester United side do not drop more `silly points` against West Ham today, as they did against Fulham last weekend. The bookmakers seem to think it is unlikely that the struggling Hammers will get anything from the game, making United strong favourites at 1/6 (bet £60 to win £10 profit). West Ham are 28/1 on Betfair, where you can also find 17/2 on the draw.
United are expected to score a few today and the game is 1/2 with Sky Bet to feature over 2.5 goals. A lower total is 2/1 with Bet 365 and William Hill, with Victor Chandler offering 6/5 that we see more than 3.5 goals tonight.
A 2-0 win for Manchester United is the favourite score for the game a 13/2 on Betfair, followed by 3-0 at 7/1 with Stan James. A comprehensive 4-0 home win is available at 10/1 with Blue Square and 888 Sport, with 1-1 as long as 19/1 on Betfair. A shock 1-0 win for West Ham is as long as 64/1, also on Betfair.
Wayne Rooney is favourite to open the scoring tonight at 11/4 with Ladbrokes, followed by Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov, who is 7/2 with most bookmakers. New signing Javier Hernandez is available at 4/1 with Bet 365, Paddy Power and Extrabet. Carlton Cole, who has been linked all summer with a move to Liverpool, is 16/1 and is West Ham`s best hope of scoring the first goal.
United are 4/7 with Victor Chandler to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and 9/2 with Betfred to in the match after drawing at half-time. 13/1 is available on Betfair that both halves are drawn, while West Ham/West Ham is as long as 50/1 with Paddy Power.
Chelsea are favourites to win the Premier League this season, at 13/10 with Paddy Power, with United second-favourites at 5/2 with most bookmakers.
