LONDON: Chelsea`s impressive start to the season, which saw them win both their opening games 6-0, has seen them installed as huge favourites to beat Stoke today at Stamford Bridge, with the best price available only 1/8 (bet £80 to win £10 profit) with Paddy Power, Betfred and Totesport. Stoke are as long as 37/1 on Betfair, where best price on the draw is available, at 11/1.
It looks like the Blues are set for another comfortable victory today and the match is 4/11 with Blue Square, Stan James and 888 Sport to finish to with over 2.5 total goals. A lower title is 5/2 with Bet 365 and Victor Chandler, while over 3.5 goals is 19/20 with Bet 365.
2-0 and 3-0 to Chelsea are the joint-favourite scores for the game, at 7/1 with William Hill and Stan James respectively. 4-0 is generally available at 8/1, with Stoke 22/1 to thwart Chelsea and hold them to a 1-1 draw. 1-0 to the visitors, which would be one of the most shocking results of the season, is 89/1 on Betfair.
Bet 365 are also top price on all of the notable selections in the first goalscorer market, where Didier Drogba, who has three league goals already this season, is favourite at 12/5, followed by Frank Lampard at 4/1 and Nicholas Anelka at 9/2. Ricardo Fuller is seen as Stoke best hope of breaking the deadlock, available at 20/1.
Chelsea are 9/20 with 10Bet to lead today at both half-time and full-time and 9/2 with Betfred to win the match after drawing at the interval. Stoke are 17/1 on Betfair to hold their well-backed opponents to draws at the end of both halves, while Stoke/Stoke is 66/1 with Paddy Power.
The bookmakers believe Chelsea are likely to retain their Premier League title this season, making them favourites at 5/4, followed by Manchester United, who are 5/2 with most layers.
