NEWCASTLE: Aston Villa are favourites to overcome any fatigue from their efforts in Europe in midweek and beat Newcastle today at St James` Park. The visitors are 7/5 (bet £50 to win £70 profit) with Paddy Power and William Hill, leaving Newcastle as underdogs at 23/10 with Bodog. The draw is available at 12/5 with Ladbrokes.
The two sides got off to very different starts in their opening Premier League games last weekend, with Villa thrashing West Ham 3-0 at home, while Newcastle were on the wrong end of the same scoreline against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Today`s match is 6/5 with Canbet to finish over 2.5 goals, while 10Bet offer the best price on a lower total, going 3/4.
A 1-draw has been made the favourite score for the game and Canbet are against best price, offering 6/1. 1-0 to Villa is 7/1 with Coral, Ladbrokes and Victor Chandler, and most bookmakers offer 8/1 on a 0-0 draw and 15/2 on a 1-0 Newcastle win.
Gabriel Agbonlahor has been made favourite to open the scoring today at 6/1 with Paddy Power and Victor Chandler. John Carew is 13/2, also with Victor Chandler, while Andy Carroll, who scored 19 times in 42 appearances for Newcastle last season, is the same price with Sky Bet.
Aston Villa are 7/2 with Boylesports to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and generally available at 9/2 to win the match after drawing at half-time. Most layers offer 4/1 that both halves are drawn and 9/2 that Newcastle are in front at both the interval and the final whistle.
Chelsea are favourites to win the Premier League this season, priced at 13/8.
