Premier League football betting - Chelsea vs Wigan

The Premier League title is Chelsea`s to lose as they welcome Wigan Athletic to Stamford Bridge for their final match of the season. The Blues are top of the table, leading Manchester United by one point, and a win would see them end their rivals` three-year reign as Champions in front of their own fans. However, when the sides met at the JJB Stadium earlier this season Chelsea left with nothing after a humiliating 3-1 defeat to the side currently sitting fifteenth in the table.
The hosts are strong favourites to win today at 1/9 (bet £90 to win £10 profit), leaving Wigan, who have been playing for nothing but pride after securing their Premier League status, as big underdogs at 29/1 with Canbet, with the draw at 9/1. Chelsea`s home form in the Premier League this season makes for depressing reading for the visitors and the West Londoners have managed an incredible nineteen goals in their last four games while conceding only twice. Wigan have lost thirteen of their eighteen away games this season and there is no tougher place to go than the Bridge.
A comfortable win for Chelsea seems almost inevitable and the bookmakers have made a 2-0 win for Carlo Ancelotti`s side the favourite score for the game at 6/1, with Stan James best price on 3-0 at 7/1 and 4-0 generally available at 8/1. However, things do not always go the way they are expected to and a 1-1 draw, giving Manchester United a chance at the title, is 18/1, with a shock 1-0 Wigan victory as long as 70/1 with Paddy Power.
Didier Drogba is joint top-scorer in the league this season after finding the net twenty-six times, despite missing a month to play in the African Cup of Nations. He needs to find at least one more to finish ahead of United`s Wayne Rooney and is 11/4 favourite with Coral to open the scoring tonight. He is followed in the betting by Frank Lampard, who has twenty-one goals, and French striker Nicholas Anelka, both at 9/2, also with Coral. Hugo Rodallega is Wigan`s best hope of scoring the game`s first goal, priced at 14/1.
Chelsea know they need to win today and should come out all guns blazing. The bookmakers expect an early lead and offer only 2/5 that the hosts lead at both half-time and full-time, with draw/Chelsea at 9/2. Canbet are best price on draw/draw, at 13/1 and Wigan are 80/1 with Paddy Power to get in front before half-time and stay there.
The layers are taking no chances and are finding it impossible to look past Chelsea for the title, with a miserly 1/10 the best available price.
