Premier League football betting - Manchester City vs Tottenham

The stakes could not be higher as Manchester City and Tottenham meet at Eastlands to compete for a place in next season`s Champions League. Spurs are in the driving seat, sitting in the coveted fourth place, one point clear of their rivals but with an inferior goal difference. Both teams will know that whoever wins today should go on to earn a spot amongst Europe`s elite, with Spurs travelling to Burnley for their final game and Manchester City facing West Ham at Upton Park, and they will also be well aware of what it would mean for their fans to see their club facing the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
City are favourites for the game at 21/20 (best £20 to win £21 profit) with Victor Chandler, leaving Spurs as underdogs at 14/5, with the draw at 13/5. The visitors bounced back from their recent defeat to Manchester United by beating Bolton at the weekend and will know they are capable of winning any game after shocking both Arsenal and Chelsea in April. City are no slouches themselves, however, and of their last six games they failed to win only at The Emirates Stadium and Old Trafford.
The game looks set to be very close and the bookmakers have made a 1-1 draw the favourite score, with SkyBet best price at 13/2. The same firm also offer 15/2 that City edge it 1-0 and more comfortable 2-0 win for the hosts is priced at 10/1 with William Hill. However, a draw would suit Spurs fine and a goalless affair is 12/1, with a momentous 1-0 victory for the visitors slightly shorter at 11/1.
Carlos Tevez, who has scored twenty-three league goals this season, has been made favourite to open the scoring tonight at 9/2 and it would be a moment for the Argentine to savour after Spurs manager Harry Redknapp`s claim that Manchester United were right to let him leave the club. He is followed in the betting by Emmanuel Adebayor, another expensive summer arrival, at 5/1, with Jermain Defoe 13/2 with Coral after finding the net on eighteen occasions so far this term.
A draw would leave City needing the most unlikely of favours from Burnley to finish fourth and they are likely to try and score early, with 12/5 generally available that they lead at both half-time and full-time and 9/2 with William Hill that they win the match after drawing at half-time. The bookmakers offer 5/1 that both halves end in a draw and Spurs are 13/2 with Victor Chandler to get themselves in front for both the interval and the final whistle. Draw/Spurs is available at 15/2.
The race for fourth place is about as finely balanced as it could be and Stan James are best price for Spurs to win it, offering 5/6, with evens generally available the City can justify their incredible spending last summer and offer Champions League football to any potential signings in the next window.
