Premier League football betting - Tottenham vs Chelsea

Chelsea travel to Tottenham tonight in the Premier League knowing that victory will leave them with one hand on the Premier League trophy. The Blues have found their form at just the right time and are now four points clear of Manchester United at the top of the table with a superior goal difference and only four games to play. Spurs, however, will not go down without a fight and their 2-win over Arsenal was not only huge in terms of the clubs` historic rivalry but also in the sense that it kept them firmly in the race for fourth place and a spot in next season`s Champions League.
The visitors are favourites for the game at evens (bet £10 to win £10 profit) with SkyBet, leaving Spurs as underdogs at 10/3, with the draw at 13/5. Chelsea go into the game in form and have now won their last five games in all competitions, scoring seventeen goals in the process and conceding only three. Tottenham looked as if they might come undone just when it mattered after losing back-to-back games against struggling Sunderland and Portsmouth. However, their win over Arsenal showed that the wobble is over and they have won twelve of their seventeen home games this season.
The game looks as if it could be close and the bookmakers have made a 1-1 draw the favourite score at 6/1, followed by 1-0 to Chelsea at 7/1, with 2-0 and 2-1 to the Blues both available at 8/1. Spurs are 11/1 to deal a huge blow to their opponents` title ambitions and strengthen their own claim for fourth place and a 0-0 draw is at the same price.
Ivorian striker Didier Drogba has been made favourite to open the scoring tonight at 4/1 after hitting twenty-five goals this season in the Premier League alone. He is followed by Nicholas Anelka, who scored the only goal in his side`s win over Bolton on Tuesday, at 11/2, with Frank Lampard at 6/1. Jermain Defoe is seen as Tottenham`s best hope of breaking the deadlock tonight and the England World Cup hopeful is available at 7/1, with Roman Pavlyuchenko at 8/1.
Chelsea are 9/4 to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and 4/1 to win the match after drawing at half-time. The bookmakers offer 5/1 that both halves end in a draw and Spurs are 15/2 with Coral to be in front at both the interval and the final whistle. Draw/Spurs is available at 17/2, also with Coral.
Tonight`s visitors are strong favourites for the Premier League title this year and the best price available is 1/7. Spurs are not as likely to achieve their aim and they are 2/1 to finish fourth.
