Premier League football betting - Burnley vs Manchester City

Manchester City travel to Burnley today in the Premier League in a game of great importance at both ends of the table. City are chasing fourth place and looking to justify their incredible summer expenditure by qualifying for next season`s Champions League. Roberto Mancini`s side are currently fifth in the table, two points behind Tottenham, and will not want to slip up against one of the league`s weakest teams. Burnley look to have an even more difficult challenge to meet their goal of staying in the top flight, sitting second from bottom and three points behind West Ham with an inferior goal difference.
City are favourites for the game at 3/4 (bet £40 to win £30 profit), leaving Burnley as underdogs at 9/2 with Skybet, with the draw available at 11/4. Today`s hosts have lost eleven of their last thirteen games and while City`s form is not perfect, with three wins in their last nine, it is difficult to see the Clarets taking anything from the match.
The bookmakers have made a 1-1 draw the joint-favourite score for today`s game at 13/2, with 1-0 to the Citizens at the same price. A more convincing 2-0 win for City is 15/2 with Paddy Power and a 0-0 draw, which would do serious damage to City`s challenge for fourth place, is 12/1 with Canbet. The same firm go 13/1 that Burnley can go one better and win the game 1-0.
Carlos Tevez, who has scored nineteen league goals this season, including a hat-trick last time out at Wigan, is favourite to open the scoring again today at 4/1, followed closely by Emmanuel Adebayor at 9/2 and Roque Santa Cruz at 11/2, with Craig Bellamy at 6/1 with Stan James. Bet365 offer 10/1 that Steven Fletcher is the man to draw first blood and the Scot is seen as Burnley`s best hope of doing so.
City are 9/5 to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and 7/2 to win the match after drawing at half-time. The bookmakers offer 11/2 that both halves end in a draw and Burnley are 10/1 to be winning at both the interval and the final whistle. Draw/Burnley is available at 11/1 with Coral.
Burnley are facing a real uphill battle to avoid relegation and the bookmakers give them little chance of doing so, offering odds of 1/14 that Burnley are playing Championship football next season. City are given more hope of achieving their goal at 2/1 to finish in the top four.
