Premier League football betting - Wolves vs Manchester United

Manchester United travel to Wolves today needing a win to keep pace with rivals Arsenal and Chelsea. United are currently second in the table but things at the top are delicately balanced, with Chelsea one point ahead and Arsenal two points behind. Wolves are facing relegation and will also be desperate for three points but this is the type of game where United will feel they have no excuse to drop points.
The Red Devils are favourites for the game at 1/3 (bet £30 to win £10 profit) leaving Wolves as big home underdogs at 10/1, with the draw at 4/1. United have won six of their last eight games in all competitions, a run that includes at 3-2 win at the San Siro and their Carling Cup final triumph over Aston Villa on Sunday. Wolves have taken all three points only once in their last nine league matches but their 1-0 win over Tottenham showed that at home they are capable of providing an upset.
The bookmakers have made a 2-0 win United the favourite score for the match at 11/2, followed by 1-0 at 13/2 and 3-0, the score when the teams met at Old Trafford this season, at 8/1. A 1-1 draw is 10/1 with Skybet, with 0-0 generally available at 14/1. A shock 1-0 win for Mick McCarthy`s side is available at 22/1 with Paddy Power.
Wayne Rooney is in the form of his life, having scored an incredible thirty-four goals in all competitions this season, and the England star is 3/1 to open the scoring today, followed by Dimitar Berbatov at 11/2 with Bet365 and Antonio Valencia at 9/1 with Skybet. Ireland international Kevin Doyle, signed from Reading in the summer, is seen as Wolves` best chance of scoring the first goal of the match, with Coral offering 11/1.
United are not the kind of side to waste time and the bookmakers offer 10/11 that Alex Ferguson`s side lead at both half-time and full-time  today, with United 7/2 to win the match after drawing at half-time. Boylesports offer 15/2 that both halves end in a draw and both they and Victor Chandler go 25/1 that Wolves are winning at both the interval and the final whistle. The same two firms offer 28/1 that the men from Molyneux take all three points are drawing at half-time.
Manchester United, who have won the Premiership three times in a row, have shortened as Chelsea go through a dip in form and are now joint-favourites at 6/4 to retain the trophy yet again. Wolves are facing the drop and are 11/8 with Skybet to be back in the Championship next season.
