Liverpool travel to struggling Portsmouth in this weekend`s early kick off, hoping to kick start their flagging season with a big win. Liverpool are currently in sixth place, and are facing serious competition from Man City, Spurs and Aston Villa for the fourth place spot. Rafa Benitez`s side are currently three points behind fifth placed Tottenham and five points behind fourth placed Villa. Pompey are rock bottom with only eleven points from their 17 games.
Despite their poor league position, Portsmouth have been playing better of late, and they pushed Chelsea to the line in their midweek match, with a late Frank Lampard penalty sealing a 2-1 win for the Blues. Liverpool won 2-1 against Wigan in their midweek match.
Liverpool are favourites for the match, priced at 4/6 (bet £60 to make £40 profit), while Pompey are at 11/2. The draw is priced at 14/5.
The favourite result for the match is a 1-0 win for Liverpool, which is priced at 13/2. A 1-0 win is at 7/1, and a 1-1 draw is at 15/2. A 2-1 win for Liverpool is at 8/1 and a goalless draw is at 11/1. A 1-0 win for Portsmouth is at 12/1.
