English Premier League betting - Liverpool vs Arsenal

Arsenal travel to Anfield today hoping to heap further misery onto the struggling Merseysiders. As well as crashing out of the Champions League, Liverpool are thirteen points behind League leaders Chelsea.

Arsenal have also been struggling since the loss of influential striker Robin van Persie. However, they will be encouraged by the fact that the two teams either side of them , Tottenham and Manchester United, both lost yesterday.

The two sides played earlier this season in the Carling Cup, where Arsenal won 2-1, despite fielding a team of youngsters. The last time the two sides played in the league, the result was a thrilling 4-4 draw, with Andrey Arshavin scoring all four of Arsenal`s goals.

Liverpool are favourites for the match, priced at 6/5 (bet £50 to make £60 profit), while Arsenal are at 5/2. The draw is priced at 12/5.

A 1-1 draw is the favourite result at 6/1, followed by a 1-0 Liverpool win at 7/1. A 2-1 win for Rafa Benitez`s side is at 9/1, ahead of a 2-0 victory at 10/1. A goalless draw is also at 10/1, and a 1-0 Arsenal win is at 11/1.

Liverpool are 14/5 to be winning at half time and full time, and draw / Liverpool is at 4/1. Draw / draw is at 5/1, and Arsenal / Arsenal is at 11/2.

Spanish striker Fernando Torres is favourite to open the scoring at 9/2, followed by Steven Gerrard at 13/2. David N`Gog is next at 7/1, with Arshavin Arsenal`s best hope at 15/2. Nicklas Bendtner and Eduardo are both at 8/1, with Dirk Kuyt next at 9/1.

Arsenal are third favourites to win the league at 8/1, while Liverpool are fourth favourites, way off at 40/1. Despite Liverpool currently lying in seventh place, they are still seen as likely to make the top four, and are evens to finish there.
