English Premiership football betting - Portsmouth vs Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham travel to Fratton Park tomorrow, hoping to add further misery to Pompey after their dismal start to this season. Portsmouth have only one win from eight games and currently lie in bottom place in the league. This match will not only see the return of Spurs boss Harry Redknapp to Fratton Park, but also Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar.
Spurs are unsurprisingly favourites for the tie at 9/10 (bet $100 to make $90 profit), whilst Pompey are at 4/1. The draw is priced at 5/2.
Jermain Defoe is rated as most likely to score first at 9/2, after missing out on international action due to a hand injury. Peter Crouch is next at 11/2 after scoring twice in England’s 3-0 win over Belarus. Robbie Keane is also at 11/2, whilst Roman Pavlyuchenko is at 7/1. Aruna Dindane is Pompey’s best hope at 9/1.
The North-London side are 2/1 to be winning at half time and full time and draw / Spurs is at 4/1. Draw / draw is at 5/1, whilst Portsmouth / Portsmouth is at 9/1.
Paul Hart’s side recorded their first Premier League win of the season last time out, and as such the bookies expect a reasonably close game. A 1-1 draw is the favourite result at 13/2. A 1-0 win for Spurs is at 7/1 whilst a 2-1 win is at 8/1. A 2-0 win for Spurs is at 17/2.
Spurs have been in excellent form recently and currently lie in third place in the league. They are likely to still be missing playmaker Luka Modric for this match, but it is hopeful that he will make a return for their derby match against Arsenal on 31st October. Spurs are 6/1 to finish inside the top four this season, whilst Portsmouth are 4/5 to be relegated.
