Uruguayans striker Gaston Puerari signs for Chicago Fire

CHICAGO - Uruguayan forward Gaston Puerari has been signed by Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire from the Montevideo Wanderers.
The 25-year-old had eight goals in 35 league games for Montevideo the past two seasons. He was with Uruguay's Rampla Juniors in 2007 and during the 2008-09 season, interrupted by a stretch with Ecuador's Emelec in 2008.
His signing was announced Thursday.
