Soldier Field, Chicago - Manchester United play Chicago Fire on Saturday, as they look to maintain their 100% record in their preseason tour.
United thrashed the Seattle Sounders 7-0 in their last game, with Wayne Rooney scoring a hattrick in twenty second half minutes. The other goals came from Michael Owen, Mame Biram Diouf, Park Ji-Sung and Gabriel Obertan. United fans also got a chance to see Ashley Young, their new signing from Aston Villa, on the left wing. They will have another chance to see a new signing on Saturday, with David de Gea set to start in goal.
Chicago are currently languishing in eighth place in the Eastern Conference of the MLS, and have not won a game in the league since their 1-0 win over Columbus on the 12th of June. They are expected to be up against it tonight, and are massive underdogs at 11/1 with William Hill to win the game (bet £10 to make £110 profit). United are 2/7 favourites with Coral, and the draw is priced at 9/2 with William Hill.
In the correct score market, 2-0 and 3-0 wins for United are the joint favourite results, best priced at 7/1 with William Hill and Betfred respectively. A 2-1 win for the Reds is at 9/1 with William Hill and the same firm offer 10/1 on a 1-0 win. Bet365 offer 12/1 on both a 3-1 win and a 4-0 win, and a 1-1 draw is at 14/1 with William Hill. Chicago's best hope is a 1-0 win, which is priced at 33/1 with William Hill.
On the half time / full time market, United / United is unsurprisingly the favourite result, with best odds of 4/5 offered by Bet365. Draw / United is at 7/2 with Betfred, and draw / draw is a 10/1 shot with William Hill. Chicago are 22/1 to be winning at half time and full time.
Wayne Rooney is the 11/4 favourite to score first in the match, but backers should be aware that he may not start. Against Seattle, he came on at half time, and Sir Alex Ferguson may employ the same tactics tomorrow. Next in the betting is Javier Hernandez at 3/1, followed by Dimitar Berbatov at 7/2. Michael Owen and Danny Welbeck are both at 4/1, and Ashley Young is at 11/2 with William Hill. Fire's best hope is Cristian Nazarit who is a 9/1 shot.
United have two matches left after this one, against the MLS All Stars and a rematch of their Champions League final against Barcelona. They will be looking to build confidence ahead of the upcoming Premiership season, for which they are general 7/4 shots.
