World Cup Final betting - Holland vs Spain first goalscorer odds

Spain face Holland tomorrow in the World Cup Final and David Villa is the bookmaker`s favourite to open the scoring in football`s biggest match, with most firms offering 4/1 bet £10 to win £40 profit) on the Barcelona striker.
Villa is joint-top scorer at the tournament so far, having carried his side to this stage with five goals, and he will be extremely keen to add to his total by breaking the deadlock tomorrow and putting Spain on their way to lifting the trophy.
He is followed in the betting by the struggling Fernando Torres at 13/2. Torres`s form in South Africa has been widely criticised and his failure to find the back of the net saw him start the semi-final against Germany from the bench. It looks likely he will miss out again tomorrow and he is best avoided in the betting.
For Holland, the biggest threat is deemed to come from Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, who has also failed to really impress at the tournament. At 15/2 with Blue Square and 888 Sport, he is another who should be opposed in favour of less fancied players, and the strength in depth in his side makes it easy to find better value elsewhere.
That value may come in the form of Arjen Robben, who has been extremely dangerous in the three matches in which he has featured, scoring three goals and terrorising defences with his movement and pace on and off the ball. Robben can be found at 13/1 on Betfair and looks the best bet in the Dutch team.
Some, however, will find it difficult to overlook Wesley Sneijder, at 9/1, who is currently vying with Villa for the Golden Boot at the tournament, level with the Spain striker on five goals. Despite being better known for his ability to set up his team-mates, Sneijder has been his side`s best player by some way at the tournament and has never been afraid to shoot from a long way out.
An interesting outsider is Spain defender Sergio Ramos, who gets forward at every opportunity and has a decent scoring record for his country. At 33/1 with William Hill he may attract some action, particularly with each-way punters.
