Britain`s Got Talent Semi-Final 4 Betting Preview

LONDON, UK - Paul Burling and Christopher Stone made it through to the final last night, and in doing so showed that the betting markets have a habit of calling the winners. Amanda Holden had said that it was a `strong semi-final`, yet after all of the performances had finished, Burling and Stone were both long odds-on to qualify for the final.
If we take a look at the betting for the semi-final 4 this morning, it should give us an indication as to who has the best chance of joining the likes of Spellbound in the final.
81-year-old singer Janey Cutler is opening tonight`s show, but that could be bad news for `SuBo II`. In the three semi-finals that we have seen this week, acts to perform first have fared poorly in the public vote: Threebee came sixth, Taboo were fifth and last night Starburst could only manage sixth.
The great-grandmother of four is 5/6 (bet £60 to win £50 profit) to qualify for the final, and 28/1 with Bet 365 to go on and win the competition outright. She should get plenty of votes tonight from the sympathetic public, but 5/6 does not make much appeal given the previous record of acts opening the semi-final shows.
Cutler will be followed by street dancer Tyler Patterson, who is only nine-years-old. He has said that he will buy his mother a house if he wins the competition, but Victor Chandler are willing to offer 100/1 that he actually does. Patterson is 3/1 at the moment to qualify on Betfair, but even if he does, it is hard to see him making much of an impact in the final itself.
Next up we have the dancing duo, Twist And Pulse, who are the warm favourites for this semi-final. It has been revealed that both `Twist` and `Pulse` are both former members of Peridot, who only managed to finish third last night. That should not affect their chances of qualification, and the comedy dancers can be backed at 1/3 to qualify and at 6/5 to win the semi-final.
Of tonight`s bunch of semi-finalists, they have the greatest chance of winning the competition. Twist And Pulse are into 16/1 with Bet 365, but would need to fend off the challenge of Spellbound in the final to have a realistic chance.
Ice were criticised by Simon Cowell last time for being too `dance school`, and with such hot competition in the street dancing category, they have been overlooked in the betting. On Betfair they are 15/1 to qualify and Paddy Power go 200/1 that they win Series 4 of BGT.
Singer Emile Harris is a teenage dad, and he is currently at 6/1 to qualify. The 17-year-old needs to raise his game significantly and is 150/1 with Paddy Power to win the show on Saturday.
Drag singer Mark James has no chance, and is 25/1 on Betfair to make it through the semi-final.
Team Shaolin, a martial arts troupe, are set to do a `finger stand` on tonight`s show, but that is not enough to impress the layers. They are 10/1 to qualify and a massive 150/1 to win the series.
Finally viewers will be treated to a dance performance by The Fusion. Cowell is not a fan and as a result they are 15/1 in the qualification market.
Miley Cyrus will be performing `Can`t Be Tamed` at some point during the results show, and the semi-final itself begins at 7.30pm on ITV1.
