Nottingham Forest will look to overcome a one-goal deficit as they face Blackpool in the second leg of their playoff semi-final tie. Blackpool came away with a 2-1 win in the first leg at Bloomfield Road but their job is far from over and Forest will be confident that they can get past their guests, who finished sixth in the table, qualifying for the playoffs only on the final day of the season. Both sides will know what is at stake, with Forest looking to regain some of their historic status and Blackpool looking to return to the top flight for the first me in forty years.
The hosts are favourites for the game at 3/4 (bet £40 to win £30 profit), leaving Blackpool as underdogs at 4/1, with the draw at 5/2. Forest`s home form has been excellent this season, with eighteen wins and only three defeats in twenty-three matches. However, while Blackpool have been unspectacular away from home this season, they have won three of their last four away games and will come to the City Ground today without fear.
The bookmakers have made a 1-0 win for Forest, which would send the tie into extra time, the joint-favourite score for the game at 6/1, with a 1-1 draw at the same price. A more comfortable 2-0 win for the hosts is next, at 7/1 with Extrabet, and 3-0 is 14/1 with 888sport. Blackpool are 13/1 with Canbet to win by a single goal again tonight, with the game finishing 1-0, and 17/1 to come away with another 2-1 win.
Forest`s Rob Earnshaw has been made favourite to open the scoring tonight at 9/2 after finding the net on fifteen occasions in the league this season. He is followed in the betting by team-mates Dexter Blackstock, who has twelve goals, at 11/2 with William Hill, and Dele Adebola, at 7/1. For Blackpool, Stephen Dobbie is seen to be more likely to score the game`s first goal at 9/1, than his more prolific compatriot Charlie Adam.
Nottingham Forest at 15/8 to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and 7/2 to win the match after drawing at half-time, as they did in the first leg. The bookmakers offer 5/1 that both halves are drawn and Victor Chandler are best price, at 10/1, that Blackpool can get themselves in front at both the interval and the final whistle. Draw/Blackpool is generally available at the same price.
The tie is wide open and both sides are given good chances of earning promotion to the top flight this season. Forest, however, are seen as the more likely of the two, with Paddy Power offering 11/4 on tonight`s hosts are Coral going 7/2 on Blackpool.
