Bordeaux host Olympiakos tonight in the second leg of their last-sixteen tie of the Champions League. The French side are in an excellent position to go through to the next round after winning the first leg 1-0 in Greece and it will take a big upset to keep Olympiakos in the competition.
The hosts are favourites for the match at 4/7 (bet £70 to win £40 profit), leaving Olympiakos as underdogs at 6/1. Neither side has been in particularly good form recently with Bordeaux winning just one of their last three home games and two of their last five overall and Olympiakos with only one win over the same period. The draw is available at 3/1 and both teams have drawn two of their last five.
The bookmakers have made a 1-0 win for Bordeaux the favourite score for the match at 11/2, slightly ahead of the 13/2 available on 2-0. A 1-1 draw is priced at 7/1 and 0-0 is 10/1 with Expect. The bookmakers offer 12/1 on a surprise 1-0 win for Olympiakos and a shock 2-0 triumph for the visitors is as long as 40/1.
Marouane Chamakh has been made favourite to open the scoring tonight at 4/1 having found the net four times in his last eight games. Next most likely is Fernando Cavenaghi at 11/2, with Yoann Gourcuff at available at 7/1 with Ladbrokes. Olympiakos` best hope of scoring the first goal tonight is seen to be Englishman Matt Derbyshire, at 12/1 with Bodo, who has five goals in eleven appearances this season for the Greek side.
Bordeaux are 11/8 with William Hill to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and 7/2 with Ladbrokes to win the match after drawing at half-time. The bookmakers offer 11/2 that both halves end in a draw and Olympiakos are 14/1 with Victor Chandler to be winning at both the interval and the final whistle. Draw/Olympiakos is available at 16/1 with the same firm.
Neither side is among the favourites for the Champions League this season but Bordeaux are at least given a chance at 22/1 for an unlikely success. Olympiakos are seen as no threat to Europe`s big guns and they are as long as 250/1.
