UEFA Champions League betting - CSKA Moscow vs Sevilla
By Matt Knowles on 2010-02-24 16:30:52
CSKA Moscow face Seville tonight in the Champions League. The Russian season has been over since the end of November and tonight`s hosts finished as low as sixth, but they ended of a high, winning three of their final four matches. CSKA have won two of their six Champions League matches, the highlight of which was a thrilling 3-3 draw with Manchester United. Sevilla are fourth in La Liga and have now taken twelve points from their last possible fifteen, last time out winning 3-1 at Mallorca.
Sevilla have been made favourites for the game at 8/5 (bet £50 to win £80 profit) with Coral, leaving the home side as underdogs at 19/10. The draw is available at 23/10 but tonight`s visitors have recorded only three draws in their twenty-five league matches this season and Moscow only four in thirty.
The bookmakers have made a 1-1 draw the most likely score tonight at 6/1, reflecting the idea that these teams are quite evenly matched. Sevilla are 7/1 with Totesport to come away with a 1-0 win in the cold of Russian winter, with the hosts slightly longer at 15/2 to win with the same score. A goalless draw is available at 17/2 with Sportingbet and a 2-0 win for the visitors is priced at 11/1.
Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano has been made favourite to open the scoring tonight at 5/1, ahead of Sevilla team-mates Frederic Kanoute at 13/2 and Alvaro Negredo at 7/1. Czech Republic striker Tomas Necid is seen as CSKA`s best chance of scoring the first goal tonight at 15/2, followed by Milhomen Gusmao Guilherme at 8/1. Twenty-one year-old Argentinian Diego Perotti, who last year earned his first international cap, is 12/1 to do the honours.
The bookmakers offer 4/1 that both halves end in a draw, and Stan James offer the same price that Sevilla lead tonight at both half-time and full-time. CSKA are 9/2 to be winning at both the interval and the final whistle and tonight`s hosts are 6/1 with Skybet to win after drawing at half-time tonight.
Neither side are among the favourites for this season`s Champions League but Sevilla are seen as the more likely of the two at 25/1, with CSKA a long way out at 200/1.
