UEFA Champions League betting - Internazionale vs Rubin Kazan

Internazionale welcome Russian Champions Rubin Kazan to the San Siro tonight in a UEFA Champions League game that could see the Italian Champions eliminated from the competition and again disappoint fans hoping for a run in Europe, where success has been in short supply in recent years. The hosts are not in their best form at the moment and their 2-1 defeat to Juventus last time out meant they have won only two of their last five games in all competitions, well below expectations. Rubin, on other hand, are unbeaten in nine games and have kept clean sheets in their last five, winning their last game 3-0.
Inter are favourites for the game at 1/2 (bet $20 to win $10 profit), and a win would see them through to the next stages of the competition. A Rubin win which would eliminate the hosts is priced at 7/1 and the draw, which knocks both sides out if Kiev win and end`s Rubin`s hopes if it is 0-0, is at 10/3. Last time the sides met the result was a 1-1 draw in Russia.
A 1-0 win for the home side tonight is the favourite result at 11/2, slightly ahead of a more comfortable 2-0 at 6/1. Another 1-1 draw is next at 15/2 and 0-0 is 11/1. A confidence-restoring 3-0 win for Inter is 10/1 and a shock 1-0 upset win for the visitors is at 17/1.
Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto`o is favourite to open the scoring tonight at 4/1, slightly ahead of Argentinian strike partner Diego Milito, who is at 9/2, with nineteen year-old Italian striker Mario Balotelli at 6/1. Russian forward Aleksandr Bukharov is Rubin`s best chance of scoring the first goal, priced at 10/1.
Jose Mourinho`s side are 13/10 to be winning at both half-time and full-time and 7/2 to win after drawing at half-time. The bookmakers offer 6/1 that the sides are level at both the interval and the final whistle and 14/1 that Rubin are winning at the end of each half. Draw/Rubin Kazan is priced at 18/1.
Internazionale are rated as the sixth most likely team to win the Champions League this year at 14/1 even though they have not yet qualified from their group, while Rubin are not seen as capable of a serious challenge and are as long as 150/1 to be the most unlikely winner the tournament has ever seen.
