Chelsea travel to Porto tonight in the group stages of the Champions League having already qualified for the next stage of the competition. The Blues are in good form and last week beat Wolves 4-0 to move five points clear at the top of the Premier League. They are unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions and have scored twenty-four goals while conceding only two in this period. Porto have also already qualified but will want to win the group and they would go top with a win tonight.
The visitors are favourites for the match, priced at 6/4 (bet $40 to win $60 profit), leaving Porto as underdogs at 2/1 (bet $10 to win $20 profit). Last time the sides met Chelsea edged it 1-0 thanks to a goal from Nicholas Anelka at the beginning of the second half. The draw is at 12/5 but the two teams combined have only recorded one draw in their last twenty matches.
The bookmakers have made a 1-1 draw the most likely result of the game, priced at 11/2, followed by 1-0 to Chelsea at 13/2. A 1-0 home win is 7/1 and a goalless draw is 15/2. A 2-0 win for Carlo Ancelotti`s men is 11/1 and a 3-1 triumph is at 26/1.
Ivorian striker Didier Drogba is favourite to open the scoring tonight at 5/1, just ahead of Frenchman Nicholas Anelka, who scored the winner in the last meeting, at 13/2. Brazilian striker Hulk is 7/1 and represents Porto`s best chance of scoring the first goal in this match.
Chelsea are 7/2 to be winning at both half-time and full-time, and 9/2 to win after drawing at half-time. Both halves to be drawn is priced at 4/1 and Porto are 9/2 to hold the lead at the interval and the final whistle. The hosts are 6/1 to win after the sides are level at half-time.
Chelsea are second favourites to win the Champions League this year at 9/2, behind only current holders Barcelona. Porto are not rated and are not seen as a serious threat this year, priced at 66/1.
